Everybody Needs Friends
Friends of the Dallas Public Library, the Municipal Library Board, library branch friends groups and other concerned citizens, including SullivanPerkins, are supporting a campaign to restore the Dallas Public Library’s hours of operation, services and programs to the 2008 level. Using the logo shown here as a rallying cry, (and reproduced on t-shirts and campaign collateral), supporters have appeared before the Dallas City Council to request that the library system’s funding be restored (which would mean it would become just 3% of the city’s $1.2 billion annual budget).

SullivanPerkins designed the Open Libraries Unlock Potential logo, as well as this poster for the AuthorSpeak series hosted by the Friends of the Dallas Public Library. Alfredo Corchado read from Midnight in Mexico, his “reporter’s journey through a country’s descent into darkness,” which tells of a country where drug trafficking is a multi-billion dollar business and more than 80,000 have been killed or disappeared in the past six years.
